Stringer Pallets

The most common pallet design. Stringers (boards that run parallel to the pallet length) support the top deck boards. Typically offer 2-way entry (forklifts can enter from two sides only).

Advantages:

  • Cost-effective
  • Lighter weight
  • Standard sizes available
  • Easy to repair

Best For:

  • One-way shipping
  • Light to medium loads
  • Rack storage
  • Budget-conscious operations

Block Pallets

Use blocks (solid pieces of wood) between the top and bottom deck boards instead of stringers. Offer 4-way entry - forklifts and pallet jacks can access from all four sides.

Advantages:

  • 4-way forklift access
  • Greater durability
  • Better weight distribution
  • Longer lifespan

Best For:

  • Heavy loads
  • Multiple trips/uses
  • Automated warehouses
  • Export shipping

Double-Face Pallets

Feature deck boards on both top and bottom surfaces. Can be either reversible (both sides identical) or non-reversible (different top and bottom).

Advantages:

  • Extra durability
  • Can be reversible
  • Better load distribution
  • Protects product

Best For:

  • Heavy products
  • Stacking applications
  • Long-term use
  • Rough handling environments
